Creamy minty ice cream with chocolate chips all throughout. This homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream tastes just like the classic ice cream that you remember. But with this ice cream, you don’t even need to use a ice cream maker. All you need is a bowl and a hand mixer. Only 5 ingredients are needed to create this delicious ice cream. Just heavy whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, mint extract and green food coloring to color the ice cream. This ice cream is a delicious and easy dessert to enjoy this summer.

Heavy whipping cream is the base for this ice cream. It is whipped in a large bowl with a mixer until stiff peaks form. Sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips and mint extract are added into the whipped cream mixture. Green food coloring is also added to the ice cream mixture to create the classic green coloring of classic mint chocolate chip ice cream. The ice cream is frozen in an airtight container for at least 4 hours, or until the ice cream is frozen solid.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 ( 14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon mint extract
  • green food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Beat heavy whipping cream in a large bowl with a mixer until stiff peaks form. Fold in sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips and mint extract.
  • Add in green food coloring until mixture is fully green. Pour ice cream mixture out into a large freezer safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours.
