Easy creamy classic key lime pie is filled with tons of lime flavor. The filling is made with a sweet lime custard and poured into a graham cracker crust. baked until it is cooked through. The filling takes less than 10 minutes to prepare, then only 15 minutes to bake this pie. It is great to serve for any occasion. All topped off with whipped cream, this pie will make a great dessert for any season.

You can use either a premade graham cracker crust, or you can make one yourself with crushed graham crackers and melted butter. To make the lime custard, egg yolks are mixed with sweetened condensed milk, lime juice and lime zest. Pour the lime filling over the graham cracker crust and bake until the filling has set. Let the pie cool completely at room temperature before refrigerating for at least 4 hours, or until you are ready to serve. Just before serving, evenly spread whipped cream over the top of the pie. Or you can add whipped cream to each individual slice of pie.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 9-inch graham cracker crust
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 ( 14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • whipped cream

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, lime juice and lime zest.
  • Pour mixture into the graham cracker pie crust and bake for 15-20 minutes. Let cool completely. Chill for at least 4 hours. Top with whipped cream.
