Warm and fluffy fresh homemade bread is one of my favorite things to bake. It is so easy and simple to make and tastes so much better than store bought bread. There are so many different things that you can make with a loaf of homemade bread. You can make them into french bread for french bread pizzas or garlic bread. Or you can bake them in loaf pans to make sandwich bread to make your favorite sandwiches. Or you can slice some slices of this warm fluffy bread and serve it with butter or jelly.

Yeast dough is not hard to make, but it will need some time to allow it to rise before baking. The yeast dough is started with activating the active dry yeast in warm water and sugar. Once the yeast is activated, it should be foamy. In a large bowl, combine the flour with the salt. Stir in the yeast mixture and olive oil until a thick dough forms. Knead the dough out onto a floured surface until the dough is smooth and elastic. Place the dough into a large bowl that has been greased with either olive oil or non-stick cooking spray. Cover the bowl with either a towel or plastic wrap and set it in a warm place to rise for 1-2 hours, or until it is doubled in size.

Once the dough has doubled in size, deflate it and divide it into two balls of dough. Roll out each dough on a floured surface into a long rectangle. Roll the dough up into a long log and seal the edges. Place the bread logs onto greased baking sheets. Make slits into the tops of the loaves of breads and cover and let rise again for another 30-60 minutes. Bake until the bread is lightly browned and hollow. Slice and serve with butter or use to make your favorite cheese bread.
