Red, White and Blue Chocolate Chip Cookies

Soft and chewy classic chocolate chip cookies made with red and blue food coloring to make them fun for the Fourth of July. Everyone will love the soft and chewy texture of the cookies and delicious classic chocolate chip cookie flavors. They make the perfect easy treat this summer.

The cookie dough is made like a classic chocolate chip cookie dough, except that it is divided into three bowls. make one red, one blue and leave one white. Mix chocolate chips into each cookie dough. Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into a ball. Place onto a baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.

Red, White and Blue Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, divided
  • red and blue food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with brown and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Divide the cookie dough into three bowls. Mix red food coloring into one and blue into another. Mix 1/3 cup chocolate chips into each bowl.
  • Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into a ball. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
