Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Easter Eggs

Easter is in just a few weeks, and these chocolate chip cookie dough Easter eggs make the perfect candy for the occasion. A delicious edible chocolate chip cookie dough is formed into egg shaped and dipped into melted chocolate. You can decorate the eggs with Easter themed sprinkes, or with more melted chocolate to create more of an Easter egg look. There is no baking required to make the edible chocolate chip cookie dough, which means no egg in the dough. And the flour is heated in the microwave.

To start the edible chocolate chip cookie dough, the flour is first heated for 30 seconds in the microwave. You can also spread the flour out onto a baking dish and bake for a few minutes. Beat the softened butter in a large bowl with a mixer along with sugar until fluffy. Mix in milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the heated flour in and beat until it is fully incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula. Form the cookie dough into egg shapes and set onto a plate. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the candy melts in the microwave according to package directions. Stir in food coloring. Dip each cookie dough egg into the melted chocolate and set back onto plates. Let the chocolate set completely.

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, heated
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 10 oz. white candy melts
  • food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Heat flour in the microwave for 30 seconds. In a large bowl, beat softened butter with sugar until fluffy. Beat in milk and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the flour in and beat until all of the flour is incorporated.
  • Fold in chocolate chips. Shape cookie dough into egg shapes. Place onto a plate, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Melt candy melts in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each until fully melted and smooth.
  • Add in food coloring. Dip each chilled cookie dough truffle into chocolate, set back onto plates. Let chocolate set.
