Cheesy juicy chicken seasoned with Italian seasoning and covered with marinara sauce and cheese. Chicken marinara is a classic dish that is usually cooked on the stove top or is baked. But this chicken marinara is made in the slow-cooker for a quick and easy dinner. There is very little prep work to cook this meal with the slow-cooker. The ingredients go into the crock-pot and then you let it cook all day. By the time it is dinner time, the chicken should be juicy and tender with melted cheese on top. Serve with a side of pasta and spinach or broccoli for a easy and healthy dinner.
To prepare the chicken for the crock-pot, season them with Italian seasoning and place them into a greased crock-pot. Evenly pour marinara sauce over each chicken. Cover and let the crock-pot cook on low heat for 8 hours, or on high heat for 4-5 hours. When the chicken has about one hour left of cooking time, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over each chicken. Cover and let the crock-pot cook until the chicken is tender and no longer pink. And the cheese has fully melted.
