Peppermint patties are a favorite for the Christmas season. It is not hard to make peppermint patties yourself, using only five ingredients. No baking is required to make these easy chocolate candies. The peppermint patties are made of a thick peppermint dough and covered with chocolate. You can make these ahead of time and freeze these peppermint patties until you are ready to eat them. They make great homemade Christmas gifts.

The only five ingredients to make these candies are, butter, corn syrup, powdered sugar, peppermint extract and chocolate chips. The first four ingredients are all combined together in a large bowl with a mixer until a thick dough forms. Form the mixture into patties and set onto plates, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile melt the chocolate chips in the microwave until fully melted and smooth. Fully coat each peppermint patty in the melted chocolate and set back onto plates. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes or until the chocolate has fully set. Store in either the fridge or freezer.
