Warm fresh homemade flour tortillas make the perfect addition to taco night. And you only need four ingredients that you may already have on hand to make these tortillas. It is so easy to make these fresh homemade tortillas at home. There are many ways that you can eat these tortillas, such as tacos, burritos, or even a sandwich wrap.
The only four ingredients that you need to make these easy homemade tortillas are flour, salt, water and vegetable oil. Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl until a thick dough forms. Knead the dough for a couple of minutes until the dough is smooth. Place it back into the bowl that you mixed it in and let it rest for 10 minutes. After the dough has rested, divide it into smaller balls and let rest for another 10 minutes, before rolling out. Roll out each tortilla dough on a floured surface into a circle. Cook each tortilla on a hot skillet over medium low heat until lightly browned on both sides.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in warm water and vegetable oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead dough on a floured surface for a couple of minutes. Place dough back into the bowl and cover. Let rest for 10 minutes. Divide dough into 12-16 pieces and roll into balls. Set onto plates and let rest for another 10 minutes.
  • Roll out each tortilla dough on a lightly floured surface into a round circle. Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat. Cook tortillas on hot skillet until bubbles form, flip and cook until the other side is lightly browned.
