Earth Day Blondies

Soft and chewy blondie bars for Earth day. Half of the batter is made blue and the other half green. Then they are baked together to look like the Earth. Everyone will love the chewy texture of the bars and delicious brown sugar flavors. They make the perfect fun treat to bake this Earth day.

The batter is quick and easy to make, mix all of the ingredients, except for the food coloring together in a large bowl until smooth. Then divide the batter between two bowls, and mix green into one bowl and blue into another. Pour each batter into a greased baking dish and swirl together with a knife. Bake until the center of the blondies comes out clean with a toothpick. Let cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • green and blue food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, mix together butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add in the flour, salt, and baking powder until smooth. Divide the batter into two bowls.
  • Add green food coloring to one bowl and blue to the other. Pour each batter into a greased 8-inch square baking dish, and swirl with a knife. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
