Creamy and cheesy mac and cheese using small shell pasta noodles, covered in a delicious cheese sauce made from three types of cheese. Cheddar, colby jack, and parmesan are all used to create this easy and delicious cheese sauce. Everyone will love this easy mac and cheese for any side or main meal.

The cheese sauce is made by melting butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook flour in the butter for a minute to brown. Add in milk, cheddar, colby jack, and parmesan cheese along with salt and pepper. Cook the mixture until the sauce has thickened and the cheese has fully melted. Mix with the cooked pasta and serve.

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz. small shell pasta
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded colby jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, and place into a large bowl. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • Add in the flour, and cook for a minute to brown. Add in the milk, cheese, salt, and pepper. Continue to cook over medium heat, until the cheese has fully melted, and the sauce has thickened. Mix the sauce with the pasta.
