Creamy and cheesy green bean and rice casserole is delicious mix between a classic green bean casserole and a classic broccoli and rice casserole. It is cheesy with rice like a broccoli and cheese casserole, but it is also creamy with canned green beans and cream of mushroom soup. Both of those casseroles are a staple for every holiday meal. But combining these two classic dishes creates a delicious creamy and cheesy casserole with a crispy topping.

This casserole is prepared similar to a classic green bean casserole with canned green beans and a can of cream of mushroom soup. But with the addition of cooked rice and shredded cheddar cheese makes this casserole even more delicious. Drained canned green beans mixed with cooked rice, a can of cream of mushroom soup, milk and 1/2 of the french fried onions in a greased baking dish. Top with shredded cheese and french fried onions. Bake until the cheese has melted and the onions are crispy. This is the perfect side casserole to serve for any big holiday dinner like Thanksgiving or Easter.
