Maraschino Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon cherry juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped Maraschino cherries
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and cherry juice, and mix until smooth.
  2. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
