Homemade Chili

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 ( 28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 ( 14 oz.) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 ( 15 oz.) can kidney beans, drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook onion and minced garlic until softened and fragrant.
  2. Add in ground beef and cook over medium heat, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks until it is no longer pink.
  3. Add in crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes along with the juices and drained kidney beans. Let simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
