Red Velvet Kiss Cookies

Sharing is caring!

Soft and chewy red velvet cookies topped with a chocolate kiss. Red velvet is the perfect flavor for Christmas or Valentine’s day with a slight chocolate flavor from the cocoa powder. The red velvet sugar cookies are delicious on their own, but topped with the chocolate kisses makes these cookies so much better. These cookies are perfect for gift giving on Christmas or Valentine’s day.

The red velvet cookie dough is made with a little cocoa powder into the cookie dough, not enough to make them chocolate cookies, but it will give them their traditional red velvet flavor. Red food coloring is added to the cookie dough to give the cookies their red color. Refrigerate the cookie dough for at least one hour before baking to keep them from spreading out too much in the oven. After the cookies have been baked, top each one with a chocolate kiss and let them cool completely before serving.
