Classic chocolate dipped peanut butter balls, made green for Halloween with candy eyes. These easy peanut butter balls require no baking at all, just a mixer and a microwave for melting chocolate. These peanut butter balls are dipped into melted white chocolate that has been dyed green and topped with a candy eye. These easy candies need less than 20 minutes of hands on time. Make these fun treats for a Halloween dessert that the whole family will love.

The peanut butter balls are started with creaming butter and peanut butter together. Powdered sugar is gradually added into the mixture until a thick dough starts to form. Roll the dough into bite sized balls and refrigerate until set. Melt the candy melts in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Mix green food coloring into the chocolate until it is fully green. Using a fork, dip each peanut butter ball into the chocolate, coating it fully. Place the peanut butter balls onto plates and before the chocolate sets, place one candy eye onto each peanut butter ball. And refrigerate the candy until the chocolate has fully set. Store the peanut butter balls in an air tight container in the fridge.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 (10 oz.) bag white candy melts
  • green candy melts
  • candy eyes

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl using either a hand or stand mixer, beat softened butter with peanut butter until creamy. Gradually add in powdered sugar in 1/2 cup additions. Beating after each addition until a thick dough forms.
  • Roll peanut butter dough into balls and place onto plates. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Melt candy melts according to package directions, stirring after each interval until fully melted and smooth.
  • Mix green food coloring into the chocolate until fully green. Dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, coating it fully and set back onto plates. Place one eye onto each peanut butter ball. Refrigerate for anther 30 minutes or until set.
