Buttery and sweet mashed sweet potatoes with cinnamon are a delicious side dish to serve along side any meal. Or they even make a great side dish to serve fro Thanksgiving or Christmas. These mashed sweet potatoes make a great alternative to classic mashed potatoes. They have a buttery taste with ground cinnamon added to the potatoes to sweeten them. They are so quick and easy to make using only 5 ingredients. Serve these potatoes for a sweet and delicious alternative to mashed potatoes.

These potatoes are so quick and easy to make. To start the mashed potatoes, peel and cube the sweet potatoes into 1-inch cubes. Boil them in a large pot of boiling water until the potatoes are soft and fork tender. Drain and place the potatoes into a large bowl. Mash the cooked potatoes along with butter, milk, salt and ground cinnamon. You can use either a hand mixer or a potato masher to mash the potatoes. Using a mixer will make the potatoes more smooth and creamy.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and boiled
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Peel and cube sweet potatoes and place into a large saucepan. Cover with water and bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook until potatoes are fork tender.
  • Drain and place sweet potatoes into a large bowl. Add in butter, milk, salt and cinnamon. Mash with either a hand mixer or a potato masher until smooth.
