The mac and cheese is made like a classic creamy mac and cheese. Then spread the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish, and top with frozen tater tots along with more cheddar cheese. Bake until the tater tots are lightly golden browned and crispy, and the cheese has fully melted.

Mac and Cheese Tater Tot Bake

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups elbow pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 2 cups frozen tater tots

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add in the flour, and cook for a minute to brown.
  • Add in the milk, salt, pepper, and 2 cups cheese. Continue to cook, while stirring until the cheese has fully melted and the sauce has thickened.
  • Mix the sauce with the pasta. Spread the mixture into a greased baking dish. Top with 1/2 cup cheese. Top with tater tots and the remaining cheese. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
