Classic sweet peanut butter dough covered in melted chocolate. These homemade peanut butter Easter eggs make the perfect candy to enjoy this Easter or spring. They taste just like classic peanut butter balls, or peanut butter cups, except in egg form. You only need five easy ingredients to make these sweet and delicious treats. No baking is required, just a large mixing bowl and a mixer.
The peanut butter dough is made by mixing softened butter with peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually add in the powdered sugar, until a thick dough forms. Form the mixture into egg shapes and place onto a plate. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before coating in chocolate. For the chocolate coating, candy melts are prepared according to the package directions, in 30 second intervals, stirring after each until fully melted and smooth. Dip each chilled peanut butter egg into the melted chocolate to coat it fully, and set back onto plates. Let the chocolate set before serving.
