Thanksgiving is tomorrow, which means a lot of prep work to do today. But one side dish that is quick and easy to make, is fresh homemade cranberry sauce. Cranberry sauce is an essential side dish to serve at Thanksgiving dinner. While the canned cranberry sauce tastes good, nothing compares to the fresh homemade flavors of a cranberry sauce made from fresh cranberries. It is a great make ahead dish to serve along side the turkey.

This cranberry sauce uses only three ingredients, just fresh cranberries, granulated sugar and water. I used water for this, but you can also use orange juice to add more flavor to the sauce. Combine all of the ingredients together in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring the sauce to a boil, stirring frequently until the cranberries start to burst. When the sauce is at the consistency that you want, remove it from the heat and let it cool down completely. Place the sauce into a bowl, cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve, but it can be made a couple days ahead.
