Homemade Chick-Fil-A Mac and Cheese

Creamy and cheesy, this four cheese baked mac and cheese taste just like the classic chick-fil-a mac and cheese. The creamy cheese sauce has colby jack cheese, American cheese, and parmesan romano cheese all melted together to form a delicious and creamy cheese sauce. All baked with more shredded cheddar cheese on top. This mac and cheese will make a perfect addition to any main meal.

To make the creamy and cheesy cheese sauce, butter is melted and cooked with flour to brown. Milk, colby jack, American, and parmesan romano cheese is all added to the mixture and cooked for a few minutes, until all of the cheese has fully melted and the sauce is smooth and thickened. Mix the sauce with cooked pasta and spread into a baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake until the cheese has fully melted, and the top has lightly browned.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz. elbow pasta
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 oz. cobly jack cheese
  • 5 slices american cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan romano cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add in flour and cook for a minute to brown.
  • Pour in milk, colby jack cheese, american cheese, parmesan romano cheese, salt, and pepper. Continue to cook over medium heat, while whisking constantly until thickened. Mix sauce with pasta.
  • Evenly spread pasta out into a large greased baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
