Frito pie is a favorite for my family. It is quick and easy to prepare, and you can use leftover chili or canned chili. This recipe just uses chips, chili and cheese. It is perfect for a quick and easy weeknight dinner when there is not a lot of time to prepare. I always make this meal when I have some leftover chili that needs to be used up. This frito pie is the perfect cold weather meal that your family will love.

Only three ingredients are used to make this, just frito chips, cooked chili and shredded cheddar cheese. Spread the frito chips into the bottom of a greased 9-inch round baking dish. Place cooked chili on top of them, you can use either homemade leftover chili or you can use 2 cans of canned chili. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the chili. Bake until the chili is heated through and the cheese has melted.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups frito chips
  • 2 cups cooked chili
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  • preheat oven to 350 F. Spread frito chips into a greased 9-inch baking dish. Place chili on top of chips.
  • Top the chili with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
