Easy Baked Pepper Jack Mac and Cheese

Creamy and cheesy baked mac and cheese made without making a cheese sauce. This easy mac and cheese is topped with both cheddar and pepper jack cheese. All of the ingredients are placed together in a large baking dish, and baked together. This easy dish is perfect for any weeknight or holiday side dish.

The only six ingredients that you need for this mac and cheese is a box of elbow shaped pasta, flour, butter that is sliced, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded pepper jack cheese, and milk. The pasta is first cooked according to package directions. Drain the pasta, and spread it into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the flour evenly over the pasta, top with the slices of butter. Sprinkle both the cheddar and pepper jack cheese evenly over the pasta. Cover the entire dish with milk. Then cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. The foil is then removed, and the mac and cheese is baked until the cheese has fully melted.

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz. elbow pasta
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 2 1/2 cups milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, and place into a large greased baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with flour, and top with sliced butter. Sprinkle with both cheddar and pepper jack cheese. Pour milk evenly over the pasta. Cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil, and bake uncovered for another 10-15 minutes.
