Apple pie is a classic dessert to have at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. But instead of a traditional apple pie with a pie crust on top. This pie is instead topped with a crumble mixture of butter, flour and brown sugar. This dutch apple pie is a delicious addition to your holiday desserts this year. This pie is also perfect to enjoy any time of the year, topped with whipped cream or ice cream.

You can make your own pie crust, or you can use a premade pie dough to save on time. Unroll the pie crust out and place it into a round 9-inch pie plate. To make the apple pie filling, combine sliced apples with granulated and brown sugar, along with flour, cinnamon, lemon juice and vanilla extract. Evenly spread the apple filling out into the prepared pie crust. To make the crumble topping, in a medium bowl, with flour and brown sugar cut softened butter into the mixture, until it resembles course crumbs. Sprinkle the mixture over the apple pie filling and bake until the crust is golden browned.
