Crock-Pot Chicken Stew

Easy and delicious chicken stew to warm you up this winter. The crock-pot is perfect for making soups and stews because you dump all of the ingredients into the crock-pot in the morning, then by dinner, you have a delicious and hearty meal all ready to eat. It is so quick and easy to put all of the ingredients in the crock-pot and let it cook all day. Serve with a side of bread and salad for a delicious hearty winter meal. 

To start this meal, chicken is placed into a large crock-pot with carrots, onion, celery, potatoes, seasonings. Chicken broth is poured over everything and covered with the lid. Let the stew cook on low all day until the chicken is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender. Shred the chicken and serve.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound chicken
  • 1 pound carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 large stalks celery, diced
  • 2 large potatoes, cubed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions
 

  • Place all of the ingredients into a large greased crock-pot. Cover and let cook on low for 6-8 hours.

hi – I’d like to use this exact recipe for soup not stew. How much broth should I use or should I add some water?
