Soft and chewy chocolate cookie bars with a snickerdoodle flavor. The cookie bars are made with a chocolate cookie dough, but sprinkled with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar, giving them the classic snickerdoodle flavor. The cinnamon flavor goes perfectly with the flavor of the chocolate cookies. Everyone will love this delicious combination of two cookie flavors.

The chocolate cookie dough is made with a chocolate sugar cookie dough, with cream of tartar added to the dough to give it the traditional snickerdoodle cookie flavor. The dough is pressed into a greased square baking dish. And sprinkled with a mixture of cinnamon and granulated sugar. It is baked until the center comes out clean with a toothpick. Let the cookie bars cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar. In a large bowl, combine butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
  • Press the cookie dough into a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle the dough evenly with the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
