Soft and moist chocolate cake baked in a bundt pan and covered with a creamy peppermint glaze. This peppermint chocolate bundt cake is a delicious and easy to make for the holidays. This cake would be great to serve for Christmas dessert. The chocolate and peppermint flavor go together perfectly. With peppermint extract in both the chocolate cake and the glaze, this cake is filled with delicious peppermint flavor. Top with crushed peppermint candy for garnish.

The moist chocolate cake batter is so simple to make, no mixer is required just a large bowl and a whisk. All of the dry ingredients are whisked together, followed by the eggs, milk, vegetable oil and peppermint extract. Whisk all of the ingredients together until smooth. Pour the chocolate cake batter into a 9-inch bundt cake pan that has been greased with non-stick cooking spray. Bake until the cake comes out clean with a toothpick. Let the cake cool slightly in the pan, before turning it upside down onto a plate. Let the cake cool completely before pouring the glaze on top. For the creamy peppermint glaze, powdered sugar is mixed with milk and peppermint extract until smooth. Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the glaze evenly over the cake, and garnish with crushed peppermint candy.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract

Ingredients for Peppermint Glaze

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • crushed peppermint candy, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9-inch bundt cake pan. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Whisk in eggs, milk, vegetable oil and peppermint extract, whisk until smooth. Pour cake batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Let cool, and turn out onto a plate. Let cool completely.
  • For the glaze, in a medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, milk and peppermint extract until smooth. Drizzle glaze over cooled cake and garnish with crushed peppermint candy.
