Soft and chewy sugar cookies filled with tons of dried cherries. It is so quick and easy to make these cookies, just like a classic sugar cookie, but with dried cherries. They are sweet and delicious, perfect for baking anytime of the year. Everyone will love the cherries added to these sugar cookies.

The cookie dough is made like a classic sugar cookie dough, with the addition of dried cherries added to the cookie dough. The cookie dough is rolled into balls, and placed onto a large ungreased baking sheet and baked until they are fully cooked through. Let the cookies cool completely on a cooling rack before serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the cherries.
  • Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them on a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
