The cookie dough for these cookie bars is prepared just like a classic snicker doodle cookie. Except there is no need to chill the dough in the fridge before baking. Press the cookie dough out into a greased baking dish and sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Bake until the center of the bars comes out clean with a toothpick.
Snicker Doodle Cookie Bars
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, cream of tartar, and ground cinnamon.
- In another large bowl, using a mixer, beat softened butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in eggs and vanilla extract, beat until smooth. Add the flour mixture in three additions, beating after each until all of the flour is fully incorporated.
- In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Press cookie dough into a large greased baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
