Moist and fluffy vanilla cupcakes filled with chocolate m&m candy mixed in the batter. These easy cupcakes are sweet and delicious topped off with a creamy and sweet classic buttercream frosting. The fluffy vanilla cupcakes combined with chocolate m&ms in every bite make these cupcakes a tasty dessert that is perfect for any occasion.
The vanilla cupcake batter is so quick and easy to make, no mixer is needed just a bowl and a whisk. Whisk all of the ingredients together until smooth and combined. Divide the cupcake batter between 12 lined cupcake tins and bake until the center of the cupcakes comes out clean with a toothpick. Let them cool completely on a wire rack before frosting. To make the classic buttercream frosting, beat all of the ingredients together with a mixer until smooth and creamy. Either pipe or spread frosting onto each cupcake. Decorate with m&ms.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ingredients for Buttercream Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2-3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup M&Ms candy

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a 12 cup muffin pan with cupcake liners. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  • Add in eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Evenly divide cupcake batter between the lined muffin pan and bake for 18-20 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • For the buttercream frosting, beat softened butter with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth. Pipe or spread frosting onto the cooled cupcakes.
