Buttermilk Baked Chicken

Tender and juicy baked chicken coated in buttermilk and a crispy flour coating. There is no need to fry chicken with this delicious buttermilk baked chicken. It is so quick and easy to prepare this chicken, and the oven does the rest of the work. Serve with a side of your favorite vegetables and bread or a side salad for a delicious southern dinner.
Melted butter is first added to a large baking dish and coated with a mixture of buttermilk and egg. Then it is coated a mixture of flour and seasonings. Place the coated chicken into the baking dish over the melted butter and bake until it is no longer pink and the coating is crispy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound chicken
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. Pour melted butter into a large baking dish. In a shallow dish, combine buttermilk and eggs. In another shallow dish, combine flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • First dip each chicken into the egg mixture, then into the flour mixture. Place the chicken into the baking dish with the melted butter. Bake for 35-45 minutes.
