Homemade Pretzel Rolls

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 10 cups water
  • 1/2 cup baking soda

Instructions
 

  • In a large measuring cup, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt and, brown sugar.
  • Add in yeast mixture and melted butter, mix until a dough forms. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth. Place dough into a large greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise for 1-2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 400 F. Bring water and baking soda to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Deflate dough and divide into rolls, roll each into a ball. Drop each roll into the boiling water and boil for 20 seconds. Place rolls onto a greased baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
