In a large measuring cup, combine water, sugar and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
Add in 2 tablespoons melted butter and the yeast mixture. Mix until a smooth ball forms. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth. Place dough into a large greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 400 F. Deflate dough. Divide dough into 8 equal sized balls. Flatten slightly and place buns onto a large greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 30-60 minutes. Brush with melted butter and bake for 12-15 minutes.
