Cherry Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the dried cherries. In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  3. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and roll into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
