Classic Chess Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon white distilled vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Roll out pie crust and place it into a round 9-inch pie plate. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cornmeal, salt, milk, melted butter, vinegar, vanilla extract and eggs until smooth.
  • Pour custard mixture into the prepared pie plate and bake for 50-60 minutes. Let cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
