White Chocolate Chip Candy Cane Cookies

Soft and chewy peppermint sugar cookies filled with white chocolate chips and crushed candy canes. These cookies are perfect for baking this holiday season. They are filled with tons of delicious peppermint flavor from the peppermint extract and crushed candy canes. And the white chocolate chips go perfectly with the peppermint flavor. Everyone will love baking these cookies this winter.

The dough for these cookies is made similar to a classic sugar cookie dough, except that instead of vanilla extract, peppermint extract is used instead. White chocolate chips and crushed candy canes are folded into the cookie dough, and rolled into balls. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until they are fully cooked through.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in egg and peppermint extract, and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed candy canes.
  • Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
