Green bean casserole is a classic well loved side dish. But instead of using french fried onions, this creamy cheesy casserole is topped with a box of stove top stuffing mix. It is creamy, just like a classic green bean casserole but instead of a crispy fried onion topping a fluffy chewy stuffing topping is used. This casserole is a delicious alternative to a classic green bean casserole for when you want to try something different. It will make the perfect side dish casserole for Thanksgiving or other holiday dinners, or as a quick and easy side dish with very few ingredients.

This creamy cheesy casserole is started like a regular green bean casserole, by mixing the green beans, cream of mushroom soup and milk together. But instead of a crispy fried onion topping, prepare a box of stuffing mix according to the package directions. I used a cornbread stuffing mix for this, but chicken or turkey stuffing mix will work as well. Top the casserole with shredded cheddar cheese and the prepared stuffing mix. Bake until the stuffing is lightly browned and crispy and the cheese is melted.
