Soft and chewy sugar cookie bars filled with sour patch kids candy. These cookie bars make the perfect use of leftover Halloween or Christmas candy. And the sweet chewy sour patch candy goes perfectly in these chewy sugar cookie bars. Everyone will love making these easy cookie bars to use up some leftover holiday candy.

The cookie dough for these bars is made like a classic sugar cookie dough, except with the addition of sour patch kids candy. The cookie dough is pressed evenly into a square baking dish and baked until the cookie bars comes out clean in the center with a toothpick. Let cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Sour Patch Kids Cookie Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour patch kids candy

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the sour patch kids candy.
  • Press the cookie dough into a greased 8-inch baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
