To make the cake mix, all of the ingredients are whisked together in a large bowl, pour the cake mix into a baking dish and bake until the center comes out clean with a toothpick. Let the cake cool completely before crumbling. Crumble the cake into a large bowl and mix with frosting. Form the mixture into bite-sized balls, set on plates. The candy melts are melted in the chocolate according to package directions. Fully coat the cake balls in the chocolate and decorate with the candy to look like a snowman. Refrigerate until serving.
Snowman Cake Balls
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup vanilla frosting
- 16 oz. white candy melts
- rolos, chocolate chips, and m&ms
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Add in eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour cake batter into a greased baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool completely. Crumble cake into a large bowl. Mix with frosting.
- Form cake into bite-sized balls and set onto plates. refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Place candy melts in a large microwave safe bowl. Melt in 30-second intervals, stirring until fully melted and smooth. Dip each cake ball into the chocolate, set back onto plates.
- Decorate with chocolate chips for eyes and mouth, m&m for the nose, and a rolo for the hat. Let chocolate set.
