Buttery tender green beans with crispy bacon pieces. This tasty side dish is cooked in the slow-cooker along with butter and chicken broth. The result is tender and buttery green beans mixed with cooked and crumbled bacon. These green beans can be prepared in the crock-pot in the mid morning or afternoon and be ready by dinner time. This side dish goes great with any main meal, such as chicken or pork chops.
I used fresh green beans for this recipe, but frozen green beans may work as well. If using fresh green beans, trim the ends off of them and place them into a large slow-cooker. Add in cooked and crumbled bacon and butter, pour in chicken broth and season with salt and pepper. Let the green beans cook slow all day on low heat for 5- 6 hours. Or on high heat for 3 hours. The green beans should be done when most of the liquid has absorbed and the green beans are fork tender.
