Red Velvet Conversation Heart Cookies

Soft and chewy red velvet cookies topped with mini conversation hearts. Everyone will love these easy soft and chewy classic red velvet cookies for a fun and simple dessert this Valentine’s day.

The cookie dough is made like a classic red velvet cookie dough, then rolled into balls and placed onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Remove  from the oven and top with conversation hearts.

Red Velvet Conversation Heart Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • red food coloring
  • conversation hearts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture and mix until combined. Add in food coloring. Roll the cookie dough into balls and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and top with conversation hearts.
