Oven Baked Steak Fingers

Crispy and delicious homemade steak fingers baked in the oven. They are so easy to prepare with simple ingredients. Baking these steak fingers in the oven makes them healthier because there is no need for any oil. Serve these steak fingers with a side of country gravy and your favorite vegetables, such as corn on the cob or green beans for a delicious Southern comfort food meal.

The cubed steak is first sliced into strips. Whisk eggs and milk in a shallow dish. Combine flour with cornmeal, salt, and pepper in another shallow dish. First dredge the steak fingers in the egg mixture, before fully coating them in the flour and cornmeal mixture. Place the steak fingers onto a large greased baking sheet and bake until they are no longer pink in the center and the crust is lightly golden browned. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound cubed steak, sliced into strips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs and milk. In another shallow dish, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, and pepper.
  • Fully coat each sliced steak strip into the egg mixture, then fully coat in the flour mixture. Set the steak fingers onto a large greased baking sheet and bake for 40-45 minutes.
