The cookie dough is made like a classic sugar cookie dough, then it is divided into two bowls, one is colored with the blue food coloring, and the other is colored with green food coloring. Take a piece of each color of cookie dough, and roll them together into a ball. Flatten each ball, and place one Oreo cookie on each piece of dough, roll the cookie dough into a ball, covering the Oreo cookie completely. Place onto a large baking sheet, and bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.
Oreo Stuffed Earth Day Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- green food coloring
- blue food coloring
- Oreo cookies
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Divide the cookie dough into two bowls. Color one half blue and the other half green. Take a piece of both colors of dough, and roll them together in a ball. Flatten slightly, and place one Oreo cookie on the dough.
- Roll into a ball, covering the Oreo cookie completely. Place the cookies onto a large ungresaed baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
