Soft and moist classic pound cake is a delicious easy dish to make for an Easter dessert. The pound cake is soft and moist, with pound cake you don’t even need any frosting because it is sweet and delicious without it. Only four ingredients are needed to make this cake, you might have all of these in your fridge and pantry. Pound cake is traditionally baked in a loaf pan or a bundt cake pan. I chose to bake it in a bundt cake pan. Easy homemade pound cake is the perfect Easter or spring dessert that uses very few ingredients.

The only ingredients that you need to make this cake are butter, granulated sugar, flour and eggs. Pound cake uses more eggs than other types of cakes resulting in a more dense cake. Softened butter and granulated sugar are beat together with a mixer until it is light and fluffy. Beat eggs into the mixture until smooth. Then add in flour and continue to beat the mixture until all of the flour is incorporated. You can use either a loaf pan or a bundt pan for this cake. Spoon the cake batter into the greased cake pan and bake until the cake comes out clean with a toothpick.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 large eggs

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9-inch bundt cake pan. In a large bowl with a mixer, beat softened butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy.
  • Add in eggs and beat until smooth. Add in flour and beat until all of the flour is incorporated. Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, to 1 1/2 hours, until the center comes out clean.
