Homemade Hummus

Creamy and easy homemade hummus made from a can of chickpeas. It takes less than 10 minutes to prepare this easy snack or appetizer. There are so many different ways that you can serve this hummus. Such as a dip served with crackers, sliced vegetables like bell peppers or celery, or even with chips. You can also use this hummus as a sandwich spread.

You only need five simple ingredients and less than 10 minutes to create this easy dip.All of the ingredients are pureed together in either a blender or in a food processor until a thick paste forms. You can thin the hummus out with some of the reserved chickpea liquid. Place in a serving bowl and serve with crackers or vegetables.

Homemade Hummus

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ( 15 oz.) can chickpeas, drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

Instructions
 

  • Drain chickpeas, reserving 1/4 cup liquid. Place all of the ingredients except for the chickpea liquid into a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, adding in the liquid until desired consistency.
  • Serve with vegetables or crackers.
