Warm fluffy dinner rolls makes any dinner better. These simple bread rolls are made from a yeast dough using milk and butter to create a tender fluffy dough. Because this is a yeast dough, it will need a little bit of time to rise. Or you could make this dough ahead of time to save on time. To make the rolls ahead of time, you will need to prepare the dough up until before the second rise. Then you can refrigerate it for up to 24 hours. These fluffy rolls are great for holiday dinners, or for any dinner that you want warm homemade bread.

To start the dough, the active dry yeast needs to be activated in milk that has been warmed up in the microwave. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes until it is foaming. Mix flour and salt together in a large bowl. Pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter and an egg. Mix all of the ingredients together until a dough forms. Knead the dough onto a floured surface until smooth and elastic. Place the dough into a large greased bowl, cover with a towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled its size.

Once the dough has doubled in size, deflate it and place it onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into 15-18 pieces and roll each one into a smooth ball. Place the rolls into a greased baking dish, cover and either let rise again at room temperature for another 30-60 minutes. Or if you want to bake them the next day, you can refrigerate the rolls. When you are ready to bake the rolls, allow them to sit at room temperature for one hour. Brush the rolls with melted butter before baking to give the rolls a golden browned topping. Bake the rolls for 13-15 minutes.
