Homemade Cadbury Cream Eggs

Sharing is caring!

This easy classic Easter candy is easy to make homemade with powdered sugar and corn syrup. These candies are sweet with buttercream egg covered with chocolate. No baking is required to make this candy, just a mixer and a large mixing bowl. Store them in an airtight container for up to two weeks. You can even freeze these candies to enjoy a tasty chocolate treat anytime.

To make the filling for these eggs, softened butter is creamed with corn syrup, vanilla extract, and milk. Powdered sugar is then added into the mixture gradually until all of the sugar is incorporated into the mixture. Place part of the mixture into another bowl and mix with yellow food coloring. This will be the yolk part of the egg. Roll the yellow mixture into small balls and set onto plates. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. After the yolks have chilled, divide the remaining buttercream mixture into smaller pieces and roll each around each yolk, forming an egg shape. Set onto plates and refrigerate for another 30 minutes. Melt the candy melts according to package directions in the microwave in the 30-second intervals, stirring after each until fully melted and smooth. Fully coat each egg into the chocolate, and set back onto plates. Let chocolate set.
