Chocolate-covered edible cookie dough truffles make the perfect no-bake dessert for Christmas or any other occasion. The cookie dough is made completely edible by using no eggs, and heating the flour in the microwave. Sugar cookie dough filled with fun festive sprinkles for Christmas makes these truffles a sweet and delicious treat that make a great treat to enjoy around the holidays. You can store these truffles in the freezer for up to 2 months, so you can enjoy them anytime you want.
The cookie dough for these truffles is made edible by placing the flour in a microwave-safe bowl, and heating for about 40 seconds. The butter is softened and mixed with the sugar until a fluffy dough forms. Add in milk, and mix until smooth. Add the flour in, and mix until a thick dough forms. Fold the sprinkles into the mixture. I used Christmas-themed sprinkles, but any type of sprinkles work great in these to make them for any season. Roll the cookie dough into bite-sized balls, and set them onto plates. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
Place the chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl, and melt in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until fully melted and smooth. I used milk chocolate chips, but white chocolate or dark chocolate would taste great in these too. Dip each cookie dough bite into the melted chocolate, and set them back onto plates. Refrigerate for another 20 minutes, until the chocolate has set.
