Football Peanut Butter Cookies

Soft and chewy classic peanut butter cookies turned into footballs with white icing to decorate each cookie. Everyone will love the soft and chewy texture of the cookies and the classic peanut butter cookie flavors. These easy cookies make the perfect easy treat to bake for a fun superbowl themed party or any other occasion.

The cookie dough is made like a classic peanut butter cookie dough, except that they are formed into oval shapes. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet and bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Remove the cookies from the oven, and let cool completely before frosting. Pipe icing onto each cookie in a football pattern.

Football Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanutbutter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • white icing

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with peanut butter and both sugars until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Roll the cookie dough into oval shapes and flatten slightly. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely. Pipe icing onto each cookie in a football pattern.
