Instead of using a roast meat to make a traditional pot roast, why not change it to a barbecue pot roast that is perfect for the end of summer. This roast is made in the crock-pot, so it can be made any time of the year regardless of the weather. It only takes about 10 minutes to prepare the roast for the crock-pot, then just let it cook all day in the crock-pot until it is fall apart tender. You can serve it alone as a shredded beef served with your favorite barbecue side dishes. Or you can serve the roast on hamburger buns as a barbecue beef sandwich.
To prepare the roast for the crock-pot, make a dry rub seasoning mixture of brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Spread the dry rub over the pot roast and place it into a greased crock-pot. Pour worcestershire sauce and barbecue sauce evenly over the roast. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high heat for 6-7 hours, until the roast is fork tender. Shred the roast with a fork and serve.
