Chicken is an easy meal to make, and one of the most versatile dishes. It can be cooked on the stove-top, slow-cooker or baked. My favorite way to cook chicken is to bake it, because it is easy to prepare and less time consuming. This chicken is tender with a crispy garlic and cheddar cheese crust. Serve with broccoli and pasta or rice for a quick healthy dinner.
This chicken is very easy to make and takes less than 45 minutes from start to finish. With them being baked, you don’t need to watch the chicken cook on the stove top, because the oven does all of the work. Chicken is dipped in a mixture of melted butter and minced garlic. And coated in a mixture of bread crumbs, shredded cheddar cheese and seasonings. The shredded cheddar cheese creates a cheesy and crispy crust on the chicken. Bake the chicken until it is tender with a crispy crust.
Crispy Garlic Cheddar Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 F. Mix melted butter with minced garlic in a shallow dish. In another shallow dish, whisk together panko breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- Coat chicken in butter mixture, then fully coat in breadcrumb and cheese mixture. Place chicken onto a greased baking sheet. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
